How this feed works

Every NZ KiwiSaver scheme is required to maintain a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, lodged with the FMA Disclose register. When a scheme materially changes its fee, supervisor, custodian, or other tracked field, it must reissue the PDS.

FundCompare ingests every PDS reissue we can source — from the FMA Disclose register directly, the provider's own website, and Wayback Machine archives where the issuer has deleted the historical version. Each PDS is run through a per-scheme structured-extraction parser; the resulting pds_extractions dataset is what powers this feed.

An "event" above is computed at runtime as the set of changed fields between consecutive PDS versions for the same scheme. Material fee changes (management fee, member fee, performance fee) are highlighted; governance + structural changes (supervisor, custodian, external manager) are included but not flagged.

What you won't find here

  • Schemes with only a single PDS extraction on file — by definition, no diff exists. We're backfilling historical PDS coverage progressively; see /api/pds/{scheme}/facts.json for current coverage per scheme.
  • Quarterly Fund Update (QFU) changes — those are returns / fees-paid / member counts that change quarterly by definition. See /filings instead.
  • Non-tracked PDS fields (legal language updates, address changes, formatting). The parser focuses on the fields that meaningfully affect a member's cost or governance protection.
