This Quarterly Fund Update (QFU) is a Financial Markets Authority (FMA) mandated snapshot of the smartshares KiwiSaver scheme funds as at 31 December 2022. It covers 45 scheme funds and reports key metrics including fees, after-tax returns, assets under management, member numbers, and asset allocation. The FMA Disclose register is the authoritative source for all KiwiSaver scheme fund disclosures and regulatory filings.

As at 31 December 2022, the 45 smartshares KiwiSaver scheme funds held combined assets of $1.71 billion across 136,178 members. The average annual fee across these funds was 0.60%. Over the one-year period, the average after-tax return was −9.55%, while the five-year annual average return was 3.64%. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future returns.
